Hello! I just want to take a moment to introduce myself to everyone. As you have most likely figured out from my blog handle, I am a photographer that covers HS and youth sports in the SE South Dakota region. I photograph varsity level sports for www.maxpreps.com (and now SportsBuzzard!) and sub-varsity & youth sports for my own website,
I’m not much for words (that’s why I hide behind a great big camera!), I usually let the photos do the talking for me.
Most evenings I can be found on the baselines battling my arch-nemesis, the great plains zebra. He is an elusive foe and I almost caught him in the photo below. It is a tough fight, but one that needs to be fought.
Here are a few highlights from my games so far this year:

The Sioux Falls Washington High-Steppers provided the halftime entertainment on Dec. 11th.
Lake Preston guard Trevor Tande drives past Dennis Deneui of Hurley as head coach Michael Fischer watches.
Marion freshman guard Katherine Luke drives to the hoop against Dakota Christian.
Dell Rapids freshman sensation Cole Langer (and recent winner of the SportsBuzzard SE “Player of the Week Award“) drives around Matt Vande Kamp of Sioux Falls Christian during the second round of the Big Sioux Conference Tourney.
Elk Point-Jefferson guard Chrissy Strassburg drives past Alyson Johnsen of Beresford in the Big Sioux Conference Championship game.

I’m hoping to team up with some of the other buzzards to provide some live coverage of games, including some photos. Below is my confirmed schedule as of right now. I’m always open for game suggestions for my open nights.
Jan 22nd – Flandreau at McCook Central/Montrose (Boys & Girls DH)
Jan 23rd – Dakota Valley Conference Tourney final round in Elkton
The above two nights are weather-permitting, of course!
Jan 26th – Most likely be in Madison for the boys game against Harrisburg
Feb 4th – Corsica/Stickney at Sanborn Central (Boys & Girls DH)
Feb 5th – Irene/Wakonda at Baltic (Boys & Girls DH)
Feb 6th – Hoping to shoot the Dakota Schoolers Classic. Haven’t heard back from Paul Seville about it yet though.
Feb 11th – Huron at Mitchell (Boys) – This should be a great game. Really hoping to team up with one of the other buzzards to cover this one live.
